YOGA PRACTICE

This is your unique chance to experience a bit of our yoga teacher training advanced practice curriculum. Each session will focus on a different theme, with each sequence expertly tailored to explore that weekend’s lessons.

This class will focus on sun salutations! The Surya Namaskara (sun salutation) is a lovely sequence of yoga poses practiced as one continuous exercise. Each position counteracts the one before, stretching the body in a different way and alternately expanding and contracting the chest to regulate the breathing. The order of the postures is energetically balanced through the chakra system. Practiced daily it will bring great flexibility to your spine and joints and trim your waist. It limbers up the whole body in preparation for the asanas. This class involves student led teaching of Surya A and introductions to Surya B, Moon Salutations and much more!

Let Virginia Allain, RYT 500, guide you on an exploration to grow and deepen your yoga practice through a series of 2-hour advanced practices. Along side our 2019 Yoga Teacher Trainees, you’ll find inspiration and challenge, the opportunity to grow and learn, and a feeling of being connected as one through our joint experience of practice.

COST: $30/ Single Class

Virginia's yoga teaching style is heavily rooted in alignment-based asana and she encourages the use of props when necessary. Providing her students with a safe space to slow down and breathe deeply. Her approach is to teach individual bodies as they are in the moment, in their perfect nature; rather than the collective, forcing each student to look the same. She sees each body as something unique and strives to provide a positive experience, where each student is able to realize their highest self. She is an Advanced SmartFLOW graduate and continues to study with her teacher, Annie Carpenter. She has also studied with yoga teachers Richard RosenLeslie Kaminoff, Tiffany Russo, Trudy Goodman, Dr. John Casey, Cain Carroll, Mary Kay West, and Desi Barlett.
